Financial Education for Adults

  • Finding Paths to Prosperity is a new curriculum to aid IDA programs. The curriculum provides 10-session outlines as well as information about developing effective training sessions, using participatory training techniques, adapting materials for low-literacy audiences, and other topics. It includes workbooks, facilitator’s guide, and CD-ROM with customizable visual aids.
  • Financial Education Clearinghouse (NEFE) Curricula and resources on a variety of topics, including credit management, entrepreneurship, and homeownership.
  • Money Smart (available in English and Spanish) A training program to help adults outside the financial mainstream enhance their money skills and create positive banking relationships1.

Financial Education for Families and Youth

  • MoneySKILL An online course targeted to high school students, consisting of 34 “how to” modules on income, money management, spending and credit, and saving and investing, with two real-life simulations which allow the creation of a personal financial plan.

Ms. Betsy DeCampo is a Business & Industry Coordinator at Carteret Community College. She attended NC REAL Institute in Durham, NC in April of 2004. Ms. DeCampo is actively involved with post-secondary and youth REAL Entrepreneurship programs in Carteret County. She serves on staff at NC REAL Summer Camp Trainings.
